Dental infection control is vital to the successful procedures carried out on patients daily. There are many infections that can occur upon dental surgery, some of the symptoms from a dental infection include: fever, swelling, dehydration, increased heart rate, increased breathing rate, stomach pain. Other types of infections can be more serious and can result in the contraction of bloodborne pathogens such as; Hepatitis C or HIV. These are typically transmitted through cannulated lumens such as dental handpieces.
NCA has developed monitoring tools which are used in every load of the sterilization cycle, which ensure complete sterility assurance of all instruments, including cannulated and hollow lumens. This provides the practice and its staff with not just peace of mind, but also scientific evidence of effective sterility assurance on EVERY instrument.
Standards are the pinnacle of infection control monitoring of contaminated instruments, from the manual cleaning to the ultrasonic, to the sterilizer and eventually to the patient. Standards are written as scientifically objective methods that ensure the secure processing of instruments and patient safety.
We at NCA develop all of our products in accordance with the International Standards which are normatively referenced within the AAMI American Standards, which, in turn, are used as a guide by both the CDC and the ADA.
By using NCA products, you are ensuring that your practice is compliant with standards and best practice, and also limit any legal liability in the case of a nosocomial patient.
The Sterilization Department (CSSD) is the most important department in any healthcare service. The reason for this is because the entire instrument reprocessing-process starts there. NCA understands the CSSD is often overlooked as the most critical and essential department.
In the case of a nosocomial patient infection, the event trickles down from the legal or hospital PR. to the surgeon, to the nursing unit manager, to the CSSD manager and eventually back to the nurse or technician who processed he instruments prior to being used on the nosocomial patient in question.
The onus is then placed onto the hospital or the CSSD to provide evidence as to the instruments used on the patient, ensuring they have reached what is known as “Sterility Assurance Levels (SAL).
If the facility fails to provide evidence of SAL then a case can be made against the hospital for the patient infection.
NCA has taken infection control to another level, by using science and technology to provide the tools for the CSSD to ensure that every load of instruments run have reached SAL.
We also have the monitoring tools to provide the best challenge for the sterilizers to provide 100% assurance of effective functioning of the chamber.
NCA also produces validation biological spore testing that conforms to ISO11138 and ISO17665-1, which indicate that the facility SHALL provide evidence of sterility assurance for cannulated lumens used on patients. Currently in the USA, NCA is the only company that has the tools to provide this evidence.

STANDARDS & COMPLIANCE
Understanding the standards for infection control can be a daunting task, particularly because it is very difficult to narrow down what standard is suited to which application. For example, when running the large batch washer systems in the sterilization room or CSSD (Link all CSSD words to the FAQs Question that is defining the CCSD), which standards are applicable? The answer will not lie in just one standard, but several. There will be a requirement for the TYPE of washer/disinfection system or Ultrasonic (typically in dental), then there will be a standard for WHAT type of detergents to use, and WHY these detergents shall be used and HOW they function. Then there is validation. HOW can this process be validated by an external tool or source?
This is why there is so much confusion in the healthcare industries when it comes to infection control. There are simply too many OPINIONS (Subjectivity), rather than scientific supporting evidence (Objectivity). This matters in a court of law if a patient takes action against a dental/medical practice or hospital. Evidence is what matters, NOT opinions.
Therefore, NCA created products that are backed by scientific evidence and we made sure to comply with the toughest local and international standards to protect your patients, staff, and the business or practice.
An example of our most innovative products is the NCA Complete Sterilization Monitoring System which uses the NCA Process Validation Challenge Device combined with our breakthrough Quattro indicators which you insert into the autoclave with your instruments in every cycle monitor and validate sterility process. This system is the only sterilization monitoring product in the U.S. market that fully complies with the toughest sterilization standards to give you a scientific backed sterilization assurance that could be used as fool-proof evidence of sterilization in a court of law. It is a lower cost, more effective & reliable, and gives you a more accurate validation and assurance of sterility instantly even for cannulated and hollow instruments for each batch in every single cycle than the currently used periodical spore/biological tests.
We are reshaping the future of sterilization monitoring with simple and fully compliant most effective and efficient technology that could be used by dentists, doctors, hospitals, tattoo parlors, food industry etc. Our technologies have been validated and certified by the most prestigious agencies.
Dentists that use our products are the ones that really care about their patients, staff, their practice and reputation.
BREAK THROUGH TECHNOLOGY:
Cannulated and hollow instruments can’t be verified .
Our technology is the only Monitoring tool that could verify the sterility of cannulated and hollow, complex instrument such as laperscopes, dentist handpiece, keyhole surgery tool, etc
